Well, we finally had our highly anticipated visit to see Madeline's pediatric endocrinologist. Dr. Bremer is an amazing doctor and we are so happy that he is taking care of Madeline.
He really settled our nerves and told us that this is common (who knew that 1/4000 babies is "common") and that this shouldn't affect her development at all. We do have to her up her thyroid medication, but that's pretty minor. If worse comes to worse, she'll take a thyroid pill for the rest of her life...not a bad outcome considering other things that can go wrong.
We go back to see him every 2 months for the first year to check her development, growth and do bloodwork. IT's actually not too bad because Karen (mom in law) works at UCD, so we can see her and get Madeline checked out all in one visit! Got to love Grandmas!
