Melissa and I finished our first 50k on Saturday. Let's just say, in 31.5 miles you go through a HUGE range of emotions. It's a long time to run, especially this course. We essentially had 3 mountains to climb...up the mountain, down the mountain...times 3. I'm glad we train in Auburn, because 7000 ft of elevation climb is no joking matter.
(People gathering for the start)
(yes, in trail running it's ok to take pictures while you run. It was really pretty.)
(To the right...Yes, that's a 10 foot ladder we had to climb to continue the trail...good times)
We did it. We survived. In 7 weeks we have our final race....50 miles. Yikes! What are we thinking???

That is a heckuva run. Congrats on a good one. I know that 10 foot ladder. Love it so much. Good luck at the 50!!!
Hey, we took a family hike there! The kids loved that ladder! It is honestly one of the prettiest hikes we've ever been on. Congrats on your accomplishment! You two are amazing!
